Andrew D. Murgia

EASTON

Andrew D. Murgia, 73, passed away Friday, June 12, 2020, in Gracedale Nursing Home in Nazareth, PA. Born in Easton, Andrew was the son of the late Dominic and Mildred (Monaco) Murgia. A 1965 graduate of Wilson High School, Andrew served his country in the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. An electrician by trade, he was a member of the IBEW and worked at Diablo Canyon Power Plant for many years before retiring in 1986.

Andrew had a big heart, quick temper, and was often lovingly referred to as "a handful" by his family and caretakers. He loved going on adventures with and talking to his daughter, Monica. One of his happiest moments was reconnecting with his daughter Amber and meeting his grandson Avery in 2018. He remained friendly with his ex-wife, Catherine Snyder of Hellertown, whom he never stopped loving.

Andrew enjoyed astronomy, cooking, drawing, and building. If he could pass along one message to you, it would be: "don't worry, be happy".

Andrew is survived by daughters Amber Dietrich and son-in-law Dennis Dietrich of Unterhaching, Germany and Monica D. Murgia of Camptonville, CA; sister, Josephine wife of Peter Weimer of Brigantine, NJ; brother, Peter P. Murgia and his wife Antoinette of Forks Twp.; and grandson, Avery Dietrich.

Funeral Services will be private and announced at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.).
Contributions in Andrew's memory may be made to theĀ American Heart Association, 968 Postal Road, Suite 110, Allentown, PA 18109.
