Richard E. Ballek,

HELLERTOWN, Pa. — Richard E. Eiallek, 45, of 474 Juniper Road, died Thursday, May 20, in his home.

He worked as a laborer for Sheet Metal Local 19 for the past 20 years.

Born Sept. 27, 1947, in Fountain Hill, he was son of the late Ernest and Irene P. Pektor Ballek.

He served with the Marine Corps as a sergeant during the Vietnam War.

He was past secretary, coach and umpire since 1978 for Hellertown-Lower Saucon Little League. Since 1986, he was a team representative for the Hellertown American Legion baseball team. He was a member of Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397 in HelIertown.

He and his wife, he former Karlene E. Kuhns, were married 23 years last November.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Rich, and a daughter, Kara A., both at home; and a sister, Priscilla E. Kinter of Minneapolis, Minn.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in First United Church of Christ, 501 Northampton St., Hellertown. Burial will be in Union Cemetery of Hellertown in Hellertown. Call 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown.
